Hello, my name is Renee Drainville.

I am a medical laboratory professional and educator with a strong commitment to teaching, health care excellence, and the preparation of future medical laboratory professionals. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, I returned to my home community after completing my education and now live on the shores of Lake Superior. My teaching practice is grounded in evidence-based instruction, competency development, and the integration of theory with hands-on laboratory experience, with a consistent focus on quality, accuracy, and patient safety.

As a mother of two young children, I bring patience, empathy, and a learner-centered perspective to the classroom and laboratory setting. These experiences shape my approach to teaching, emphasizing clear communication, supportive learning environments, and professional accountability. Outside of my academic work, I value time spent outdoors downhill skiing in the winter, and water activities on Lake Superior with my family.

My personal and professional experiences work together to support balance, resilience, and well-being, reflecting my commitment to education, health, and community engagement. These values guide my approach to teaching, mentorship, and professional engagement, and inform how I support learners preparing to serve diverse communities.
